ABOUT US
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
The history of Quinta da Prelada as a wine producer dates back to the 17th century when it was under the care of the Noronha Menezes family in Porto, who owned the property bearing the same name that now houses the Prelada Hospital. Since the demarcation of 1757, Quinta da Prelada was promptly included, and it was assigned the emblematic Pombaline milestone number 39, a striking symbol of its historical significance.
In 1920, Dr. Samuel Lopes da Silva, the grandfather of the current generation of Port and Douro wine producers, took ownership of the estate. Their unwavering commitment to quality and tradition has further enriched the vinicultural heritage of Quinta da Prelada, carrying on a family legacy that spans generations.
